Holiday Greeting Cards
One
thing I love to do is make Christmas cards. In the past, I
spent many years not sending Christmas cards because I kept
planning to make them and then not getting them done. Live
and learn. Now I start early, keep my design fairly basic,
use simplifying tools, and make the cards assembly-line
style. This year’s cards are not complicated, but have
enough detail to be unique, festive, and personal.
I started with Heidi
Grace Flocked Boxed Cards and added fun details with
Fiskars’ Block Party and Mint Condition Squeeze Punches and
Scalloped Paper Edgers. An important realization I came to
was that although the overall design of the cards is the
same, the individual cards can have some differences. That’s
okay! The recipients will only see their own card and will
not know that you didn’t make 20 or 40 or 150
exactly-the-same cards – not that that would matter anyway!
So use what you have, mix up the papers a little, dig
through your stash of monogram die cuts and stickers and get
those cards made. I look forward to dropping mine in the
mail on December 1!

Instructions
1. Trim ¼” from the front,
right-hand side of each card.
2. Using the XL Mint Condition
Squeeze Punch, punch three leaves for each card you plan to
make. Use the round side of the punch to take little “bites”
out of the leaves until the look like holly leaves. Adhere
in a cluster and add red berries.
3. Trim red patterned papers
to 4” X 6” and adhere on the inside of each card (I left
some green for variety).
4. Punch white squares with
the XL Block Party Squeeze Punch. Adhere in the center of
each card window with Foam Adhesive.
5. Adhere the letter “b” to
each square, taking card that the card can still open. The
letter will not fit on the square, so let it hang off a bit.
6. Stamp the word “merry.”
below the square on the inside, making sure the image is
below the window so it is only visible when the card is
opened.
7. Cut ½” X 6” strips of white
cardstock, edge on one side with the Scallop Edger, and
adhere as shown. OR cut a scalloped side from the Red
Cardstock Punchout Alphabet, punch 1/16” holes in the
scallops, and adhere as shown.
